The principle of design of the artefact is not to meet that of immediate human needs, but instead to create discourse over how we can change human behaviours through design. Inspired by the transformative power of nature and the grieving process, the Mycelial Self jewellery merges organic materials, body modification, and sustainable burial practices to create a poignant reminder of life, death, and the cycles of nature.
